Rather than designing a store to simply display bottles, the project creates a carefully choreographed journey that invites guests to explore, discover, and connect through a shared appreciation of wine.
Design Philosophy
The architecture balances the honesty of an exposed industrial shell with the warmth of refined natural materials. A sculptural suspended canopy anchors the space, guiding visitors through the retail environment while introducing movement, intimacy, and a memorable architectural identity. Custom white oak millwork, blackened steel detailing, expressive marble, and integrated lighting work together to elevate every bottle into a curated display, transforming the act of browsing into an experience of discovery.
A Space to Savor
Visitors and staff feel welcomed immediately by the sumptuous and lively aesthetic. A thoughtful mix of materials, color, and lighting helps to navigate the end user easily throughout the floors and demonstrates a zoning guide. A combination of open and floating ceilings define the quiet and intimate spaces, while also encouraging conversation and collaboration in other areas.
Material as Storytelling
Every design decision was driven by the belief that architecture should enhance human connection. Curved forms soften circulation, natural materials age gracefully over time, and thoughtful lighting emphasizes texture, warmth, and authenticity. Rather than separating retail from hospitality, Solvino creates a seamless environment where shopping, tasting, dining, and storytelling naturally coexist.
