Designing for a New Rhythm of Work

The pandemic fundamentally changed our relationship with the workplace. As employees discovered greater flexibility, autonomy, and comfort working from home, the role of the office evolved. For Entertainment Benefits Group (EBG), that shift presented an opportunity: rethink the workplace as a destination designed not simply for productivity, but for people.

The vision for EBG’s new office centered on creating an environment that could offer the flexibility employees had grown accustomed to while restoring what remote work could not replicate – connection, collaboration, and a shared sense of culture.

A Reason to Return

Creating a workplace people want to return to required more than a change in aesthetics. It demanded a shift in how the office itself functions.

Across 40,000 square feet, EBG invested in an employee experience built around choice. Rather than prescribing a single way to work, the design creates a spectrum of environments that allow employees to move throughout the day; finding spaces to gather, focus, recharge, or simply step away.

The result is a workplace that responds to the individual while strengthening the collective.

Designed Around Choice

While workstations establish the foundation of the program, the experience extends far beyond the desk.

Distinct workplace quadrants are punctuated by informal gathering areas, lounge seating, private phone booths, and quiet spaces for moments of focus or pause. Small and large meeting rooms support collaboration at different scales, while private one-person rooms offer retreat when concentration is essential.

A generous café and dedicated coffee corner introduce hospitality into the everyday, creating natural gathering points where conversations and connections can happen organically.

Designed Around a Shared Identity

Communal and visitor-facing spaces occupy the center of the floor plate, creating a collective heart for the headquarters. Administrative and executive functions extend into four distinct quadrants, reflecting the four committees based within the Lake Nona office.

The result is a workplace that balances individuality with unity, bringing people, brands, and leadership together through a shared architectural language. More than a corporate headquarters, Ames Lake Nona creates a physical expression of culture, where heritage, hospitality, and connection shape the experience of work.
